a somatic approach

Biodynamic Breathwork

Breathwork can be a used as a powerful yet gentle somatic approach to release tension, process emotion and reconnect with yourself.

What is Biodynamic Breathwork?

BioDynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System® (BBTRS®) is a gentle but powerful way to release tension your body has been holding on to, and to connect with feelings you may not have been aware of.

It combines breathwork with movement, sound and other body-based techniques, so you work with both the physical and emotional side of stress (you can read more on these elements below.)

Because it uses more than breath alone, BBTRS® gives you more ways in. It suits people carrying a lot of stress or past trauma, and it can be adapted to your pace, your sensory needs and the way your brain works.

How it supports your nervous system

There are countless benefits to breathwork, here are some of them:

  • Builds your ability to stay present with emotions

  • Strengthens the mind-body connection

  • Supports resilience to stress over time

  • Releases built-up tension and unprocessed energy

  • Helps you to notice stress and overwhelm earlier

  • Gives you simple ways to regulate your nervous system between sessions

  • Eases the heaviness that comes with burnout and shutdown

  • Builds trust in your own body and it’s signals

The six elements

Every session draws on six elements:

• Breath
Connected breathing that brings your attention into your body

• Movement
Finding comfortable ways to move the body.

• Sound
Using your voice to release tension

• Touch
Self-touch or bodywork can be used.

• Emotional expression
Space to feel what comes up,
• Meditation
Time at the end to intergrate the session.

Testimonials

“I had my very first Breathwork sessions (online) with Louie. She holds the space in a warm, gentle and professional way. Despite the intense emotions during sessions, I have always felt safe and come out of them stronger and more connected to my emotions. We also worked on a physical trauma and it has improved significantly since the sessions. I highly recommend Louie and am so grateful!” — S.U

“It has been really wonderful working with Louie over Zoom. I’ve done quite a bit of therapy in the past, but there were a few things which I was really stuck with that talk therapy had hit the wall with. There were physical aches and pains that were recurrent and had to have psychosomatic roots. The process with Louie has helped take the fire out of these issues as well as resolve a series of aches and pains I carried in my body from past trauma (such as breaking my neck!). She has allowed me to find ways to connect and feel safer in my body. She has a calm manner and holds the space beautifully. Her approach has been so much gentler than other modalities I’ve tried and in turn allowed me to be kinder to myself which is something I wasn’t familiar with. Really grateful to be able to work with her!” — L.H

“I’ve been doing breathwork with Louie for a while now, and it’s been amazing! She is so kind, compassionate, and grounded. She gently guides you through this deeply healing work. I always leave a session feeling lighter than when I started. I highly recommend!” — B.Z

I’ve had multiple sessions with Louie, both in person and remotely, and I’ve felt incredibly guided and taken care of. She is a natural in breathwork and I can wholeheartedly recommend her. — AS

Louie is a very skilled facilitator and I’ve been lucky to have had a few amazing sessions with her. Her approach is personable and gentle, which I would recommend for both experienced and new breathers! I am looking forward to continuing my journey into deepening my presence and self-awareness through Louie’s guidance. — GS
